Responsibilities include:
- Undertaking development, testing, and qualification of new materials and products
- Developing and documenting test procedures and methodologies
- Undertaking hand calculations, analysing and interpreting data, and authoring technical reports
- Arranging and participating in the preparation of material samples
- Working in line with requirements of quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems
Ideal candidates will be:
- Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline (marine/mechanical/materials or similar)
- Have an understanding of polymers (specifically polyurethanes and their processing), chemistry and materials science
- Capable and willing to undertake hands-on, practical activities
- Able to work effectively as part of a small team and autonomously when required
- Creative and innovative in problem solving and product / process development
- Confident, assertive, and proactive in approach to work, with a ‘can do’ flexible attitude
- Capable of working under pressure with consistently high standards of accuracy and quality
- Able to demonstrate high attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
